Overview

When problems arise, we rely on the logging mechanism of the Synchronizer to provide us with valuable information. The loglevel can be set in the Sync Admin, but there are more ways to see what the Synchronizer is doing.

Tips & Tricks

When the Synchronizer is running in Window mode, the following functions can be used:

Change the Logging / Loglevel mode

Hold the CTRL-Key and click the version numbermceclip2.png

This will display the following screen to change the logging mode. Choose the loglevel and close the window by clicking the cross in the top right corner.

The chosen loglevel will reset to the option set in the Sync Admin when the Synchronizer Window is closed.

Hold the ALT-Key and click the version number, the log file will be opened in Windows notepad. From version 3.2.88, the logfile can be found in the local user folder of the user running the Service (for example):

  • "C:\Documents and Settings\<Synchronizer User>\Local Settings\Application Data\InfoBridge SuperOffice Exchange Synchronizer\"
  • "C:\Users\<Synchronizer User>\AppData\Roaming\InfoBridge SuperOffice Exchange Synchronizer"

Extra parameters

When the Synchronizer ‘InfoBridge Synchronizer.exe’ is started with the parameter /INFO the ‘Save warning and informational messages to logfile’ logging is activated for the time the Synchronizer is running.

When the Synchronizer ‘InfoBridge Synchronizer.exe’ is started with the parameter /DEBUG the ‘Save warning, informational and debugging messages to logfile’ logging is activated for the time the Synchronizer is running.

When the Synchronizer ‘InfoBridge Synchronizer.exe’ is started with the parameter /USESCANNINGMETHOD the synchronizer is running without using the ICS folder.
Note 1: When activating it please make sure the ICS folder is deleted and the journal.db3 is renamed.
Note 2: This option only applies to the Exchange v2 Synchronizer

If you need to synchronize a certain language, then you can use the parameter /LANG:GE (Example: GE is for Germany. Use the same language codes as in the SuperOffice Admin)

This article also applies to:

  • Exchange Synchronizer v2
  • Outlook (Online) Synchronizer
  • Google Synchronizer
  • Domino Synchronizer
