How to use the Exchange Online Synchronizer without SuperOffice Com

Overview

It is possible to use the Exchange Online Synchronizer without having a SuperOffice Win client installed on the server.

Note: Only available for SuperOffice 8.3 R1 and higher

This applies to:

  • Exchange Online Synchronizer (From version 3.2.262)
  • Google Synchronizer (From version 3.2.262), more info
  • Domino Synchronizer (From version 3.2.134), more info

The local synchronizers like Outlook Online Synchronizer and Google Synchronizer Personal still require a local Win client to be installed. 

How to

The setups can be downloaded from CRMPlaza.com

Run the setup and follow the setup wizard

After the new Synchronizer is installed start the Synchronizer admin from the Start Menu. A new connection setting screen is opened. This needs to be filled in to setup the connection towards SuperOffice.

Database Username The name of the SuperOffice user; CRM5 or CRM7
Password The password of the SuperOffice user
Prefix The Table prefix, usually crm5 or crm7 unless you have created another table prefix for SuperOffice
ODBC Datasource Name The Data Source Name (DSN)
Database Name The Database Name
Database Server The Database Server name

After filling in all the fields click the Test Connection button to test the connection to SuperOffice.

When the test is succesful use the Save button to save your settings.
Note: The settings will be saved in the local appdata folder where, for instance, the logfile is also saved. It will be saved as settings.config in C:\Users\syncuser\AppData\Roaming\InfoBridge SuperOffice Exchange Synchronizer EWS

The Setup has created new shortcuts in the Start menu for the Synchronizer and the License manager. An extra shortcut is created for the Exchange Online Synchronizer Connection, which will start the connection setup screen.

If you are using other Synchronizer shortcuts, on your Desktop for instance, and you want to use the new connection option for those shortcuts also you have to add an extra parameter /DC

  • Right-click the shortcut > Properties > Target 
  • Add /DC at the end of the line preceded by a space

Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\InfoBridge\Exchange Online Synchronizer\InfoBridge Synchronizer.exe" /DC

No changes need to be made to the Synchronizer Service

When using Ranks you have to add /DC as an extra parameter to the target line
